'MobLand worst-kept' secret about Tom Hardy is finally out
Tom Hardy was previously the target of a rumour in 'MobLand'
Tom Hardy was fired. That was the rumour which dogged the Paramount+ hit series MobLand ahead of season three.
Now, the actor has officially returned, dismissing the bizarre speculations at the time.
However, the tension that led to the rumour was reportedly genuine.
A report in Variety previously shed light on a behind-the-scenes dispute involving three key individuals.
The first was Hardy himself. His alleged tardiness on shooting reportedly soured several people on set.
Then, there were reportedly creative differences.
"He’s difficult, but he’s a movie star,” an insider at the time told the outlet over the actor's disagreement over the script.
MobLand's screenwriter Jez Butterworth is the second man. His alleged unavailability for script discussions or meetings inflamed the situation.
Finally, the last individual was David Glasser. He is the producer and known for a no-nonsense approach, especially toward actors.
All in all, the picture was reportedly made, giving insight into the ongoing differences among all three.
Despite the rumor heightening tensions, efforts were made to resolve creative differences.
Thus, this explained Hardy's return in season three.
In particular, Guy Ritchie, the director of MobLand and Glasser, despite the reported tensions, according to Variety, had to give credit for making the actor's return possible.
MobLand season two airs on Sept 18.
