Kate Middleton, Prince William 'determined' to shape their own destiny

Princess of Wales Kate Middleton and her husband future King Prince William are ‘determined to shape their own destiny’, a royal expert has claimed.

Speaking to the Fox News Digital, royal expert Christopher Andersen said the Prince and Princess of Wales want to be ‘avatars of change’.

The royal expert said, “They don't want the monarchy to become so hidebound that it collapses from its own weight. At the same time, they respect tradition and history and aren't about to throw the baby out with the bathwater.”

The future king and queen are ‘secure enough’ now to know they can rewrite the rules when it comes to ‘publicity, pressure and palace expectations’

Christopher Andersen continued, "I think Kate was born for this role, as odd as that may sound.”

The Princess has a ‘preternatural calm, a sense of self and confidence that borders on regal’, he added.

“I think she could have stepped into the role as queen-in-waiting back when she was still a student at St. Andrews University. As it turned out, it was William who dragged his feet and gave Kate 10 years to learn the ropes before popping the question."

Kate is the monarchy's most ‘important asset’, he said.

"True, she was given plenty of time to learn the ropes. But the truth of the matter is that Kate had it in her from the very beginning."
