Why Andrew Garfield hasn't congratulated Tom Holland after 'Spider-Man' success?
Andrew Garfield's explained his silence on Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' success
Andrew Garfield has not yet congratulated Tom Holland on the success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day or The Odyssey because he has not watched either film yet.
During the premiere of his new film, The Uprising, Garfield made his first remark about the big success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
“I don’t want to be disingenuous. A movie making money and people going to see it is an incredible thing but I will reach out to him once I’ve seen (Spider-Man)," he said.
He continued to say that he is "very excited to see" it.
Garfield has the same excitement for Holland's The Odyssey, which of course he has not "managed to see either" but promised to send Holland a message after seeing his work.
For those unversed, Garfield played Spider-Man in two movies and later returned as the character in Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Holland and Tobey Maguire.
He said he is not surprised by Spider-Man’s popularity, explaining why so many people connect with the character.
“Everyone has ownership over him, he’s everybody’s, and he’s decent and he’s good and he’s ordinary, and he’s extraordinary like all of us,” Garfield remarked, adding, “It’s impossible not to see yourself in that character.”
Garfield was also asked if fans will see him return as Spider-Man in the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Doomsday.
“I’m not,” he replied.
However, Garfield had previously denied being part of No Way Home before eventually appearing in the movie. When reminded of this, he smiled and said, “You’ll find out, I suppose, one way or another,” leaving fans wondering if he is really telling the truth this time.
