Ryan Reynolds makes shocking confession about his fighter-pilot roles

Ryan Reynolds has a "tremendous amount" of doubt on his flying skills.

The actor is portraying the character of a fighter pilot and Kenneth Branagh as a former KGB agent in the upcoming Mayday.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, Ryan revealed that despite portraying fighter pilots in many movies, “I don’t have a tremendous amount of faith in me as a pilot.”

“I also don’t have a lot of curiosity. I’ve played a number of fighter pilots, but I don’t know why, I just have,” Ryan added.

“I have such an appreciation for it. If you ever sat on an airplane and s--t is going wrong for a second and you look up, and you see the pilots just like take it in stride, like ‘We got this,’ that’s also what parenting is like. The kids look at us and if we’re panicking, well, they’re panicking, you know?”

He further noted, “Like if I was the pilot on a plane and I looked back at my kids and I’m like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing,’ they’re gonna freak out, you know?”

“So I always take solace in that, that feeling of going with a real pilot. There’s a calm there, and I wouldn’t have that.”

While his co-star Kenneth praised Ryan’s ability to bring authenticity in the role, “As they say, the only thing that matters is truth, and if you can fake that, it’s gonna really work.”

He continued, “But you would sit down in that cockpit and suddenly you had that feeling of like it was familiar, and I think that goes a long way in convincing the audience.”

“You spend time in those cockpits to make sure that you know what you’re looking at.”

“I thought you flew,” Kenneth further noted.

It is pertinent to mention that the upcoming Mayday will premiere on September 4.
