Rumer Willis files emergency custody request, ex denies allegations
Rumer Willis and ex-boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas clash over custody of three-year-old daughter Louetta
Rumer Willis has filed an emergency legal request seeking to keep her ex-boyfriend's visits with their young daughter supervised.
Willis, 38, claims that Derek Richard Thomas, 32, has not consistently followed the rules set by the court for seeing their three-year-old daughter, Louetta.
In her filing, she alleges there were problems finding an approved nanny to watch over their visits, which meant Thomas only saw Louetta a few times recently.
Willis also described specific incidents where she says visitation arrangements didn't go smoothly, including a disagreement involving a supervising nanny during a holiday outing.
She additionally raised concerns about a decision Thomas made to walk a long distance with their daughter in extreme heat rather than arranging transportation.
Willis is asking the court to maintain supervised visitation and delay any overnight visits until a formal hearing takes place, along with a broader custody evaluation.
Thomas has denied the allegations through his attorney, stating that he has been a loving and capable father and has never used illicit substances or placed his daughter at risk in any way.
His lawyer says Willis is trying to stop new visitation rules that were supposed to start soon. Thomas is also upset that Willis moved with their daughter to Nashville, saying this may go against the custody agreement.
Willis was given primary custody earlier this year, but the disagreement between her and Thomas is ongoing. Both sides will present their case at an upcoming court hearing next month.
