Roger Daltrey mocks Gen Z: 'nobody is listening to you'

Roger Daltrey criticized Gen Z for their dependence on social media, insisting that “everybody's screaming” at each other online, but no one is listening.

During his gig at Yaamava' Resort Casino in Los Angeles earlier this week, the 82-year-old singer said that social media is "destroying civilization."

 “When you think about it, we've got this new world of social media which seems to be destroying civilization. I think. A platform for everybody to scream at each other, but nobody's f****** listening," Roger told the audience, as per the Daily Mail.

“So, everybody's screaming. Oh, yeah. What's that all about? And how many friends have you really got when you look at ‘Oh, I got all these likes’. That's just your ego. Let it go. Let it go. It's not worth it," he continued.

"So, when it comes to the end, and I’m getting close," added The Who frontman. "Closer than you think."

“How many friends have you really got? We did a song once. How many friends have you really got? You can count them on one hand. Never a true word was written," added Roger.

The crowd shouted their approval at his remarks before he sang the rebellious anthem, My Generation.
