Dua Lipa celebrates first birthday as a married woman

Dua Lipa recently celebrated her 31st birthday this weekend next to her husband, Callum Turner, marking her first birthday since their wedding earlier this summer.

The singer dropped photos from the celebration on Monday, which showed loving moments with Turner as they embarked on a romantic getaway. While the exact location of their getaway wasn't revealed, Lipa was spotted arriving in New York around the same time.

"Birthday weekend," she began her caption. "Thank you for all the love and the wishes!!! Ready for my next lap around the sun...it just keeps getting better," she said on the occasion.

This celebration comes shortly after Lipa opened up about her wedding day, sharing how they "never lost sight of one another" during their wedding day.

"Our wedding day was magical. We received so much advice, but we decided to follow just two suggestions: to experience the day as though we were guests ourselves, and to keep finding each other throughout the crowd, never losing sight of one another. That way, we created so many memories together," she told Vogue Italia in a recent interview.

She also got candid about how the marriage is influencing her songwriting, saying, "It's easier to write love songs when your heart is broken because heartbreak is such a powerful, loud emotion." 

"But now I want to discover what happens when you truly find love. I'm interested in the complexities of a relationship - its quieter moments, the little things," she added.

The couple married in a legal ceremony in London earlier this year, followed by a larger wedding celebration in Italy about a week later.

The couple is reportedly planning to relocate to the United States later this year as Turner continues working on upcoming film projects.
