Beloved folk singer found 'safe' 8 months after going missing
Linda Perhacs went missing eight months ago after she was discharged from a residential care facility with her legal guardian
Popular folk artist Linda Perhacs has been found alive after being missing for eight months.
“She was found today. She’s safe. We can’t share where as it involves her HIPAA,” the Los Angeles Police Department Missing Persons Unit told the Daily Mail on Wednesday.
This promising news comes just two days after Linda's friend, Mark McNeill, appealed to the public for help in locating the artist.
“Linda Perhacs our dear friend and legendary singer-songwriter was discharged from a residential care facility approximately eight months ago under the supervision of her legal guardian,” he penned on Instagram on Monday, July 27.
“Since then, friends and longtime collaborators have been unable to reach her and repeated attempts to contact her guardian have reportedly gone unanswered. Please help us locate Linda to ensure her wellbeing," added Mark.
Linda’s ex manager, Laurel Stearns, told Page Six on Tuesday that “We are taking all measures. Our priority here is to get the word out and make sure that she is safe and comfortable.”
For those unversed, the 82-year-old folk legend released her first album, Parallelograms, in 1970. However, the album didn’t receive any commercial success.
After nearly three decades, in 1998, she re-released the album in a new style under a new record label.
Linda dropped her second album, The Soul of All Natural Things, in 2014, and her third album, 'I’m in Harmony, in 2017.
