LeBron James is once again in the spotlight after the Miami Heat’s latest slip up.

The Miami Heat’s official YouTube channel briefly leaked a live video stream titled “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference”. The leaked video has given the momentum to widely circulating speculations that James is going back to Miami.

As per the viral leaked video, the press conference was scheduled for July 27, 2026.

The video was quickly unlisted and made private. Miami Heat reporter Anthony Chiang clarified via a team spokesperson that it was a social media department mistake made while preparing for potential scenarios, with "no validity to it right now."

“It was a mistake by the Heat's social media department while preparing for the possibility of LeBron picking the Heat. But there is no validity to it right now,” he wrote on X.

But the NBA fans and netizens are not buying these explanations. One user wrote, “Why would you set a date if you were just preparing for the possibility.”

Another one commented, “It makes it seem even less plausible. LeBron doesn't like leaks. Miami Heat executives know by leaking this to their social media team one week before it even happens, leaks will happen. Either Miami Heat executives are idiots, which they aren't, or it's just a mistake.”

“I’d buy this if it wasn’t set for a specific date,” the third one commented.

LeBron James opted out of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on June 30, entering free agency to play his 24th NBA season at 41 years old.

Speaking about his choices, James narrowed down certain teams including Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Miami Heat, alongside outer consideration for the Golden State Warriors.

In response to the leaked video, James has not yet responded.
