'Avengers: Doomsday' breaks massive pre-sales record

Avengers: Doomsday, the upcoming Marvel film, has already created hype among the audience.

According to Variety, the film has earned $16.5 million on the first day of ticket pre-sales. The outlet shared that tickets were only offered in premium formats in about 1,000 U.S. theaters.

Additionally, studio insiders stated that the showtimes for premium formats such as IMAX and Dolby Cinema are already sold out on December 17 and 18.

In comparison to prior MCU movies, Deadpool and Wolverine’s pre-sales in 2024, Avengers: Doomsday earned twice as much as that.

Set to release on December 18, 2026, the film is set to screen in more than 4,000 US theaters.

The film is directed by the Russo brothers, who have also directed previous Marvel hits like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

On the other hand, Avengers: Doomsday features a star-studded cast, including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, and Paul Rudd, with many other renowned stars.

In the film “beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered,” as per the synopsis.
