Ryan Reynolds has sweet news for 'Deadpool' fans
Ryan Reynolds, however, refrains from sharing further details about 'Deadpool' future
When Deadpool & Wolverine was released, some fans of Merc with a Mouth believed the trigger-happy, swashbuckling hero may not return.
Yet, Ryan Reynolds, who essays the profanity-laden antihero, has packed a bombshell surprise for them.
Speaking at Fanatics Fest, the actor confirmed a fourth installment of Deadpool will take place.
However, for its story, Reynolds said he is drawing from the hero's obscure comic book storylines.
“There’s a few really deep cuts that I think are missing from the movies. I think there’s a few deep cuts missing from some of the comics,” he told Hobby Nonsense.
The star continued, “There’s certainly some stuff that I love that [Deadpool co-creator] Fabian [Nicieza] wrote that is incredible [and] Gerry Duggan, another friend and incredible comic writer, that we can put in."
"But then there’s stuff upcoming. There’s eventually, you know, remotely another ‘Deadpool’ film. So it’s going to be great.”
With the Avengers: Doomsday trailer dropped, some fans speculate Wade Wilson may feature in the upcoming Marvel's tentpole.
Though Reynolds has downplayed the rumours yet, he earlier this month teased writing a piece for Deadpool's return, but as a side, not the main character.
