Whoopi Goldberg's heartfelt gesture moves Anne Hathaway to tears on 'The View'
Whoopi Goldberg praises Anne Hathaway as a 'fabulous' actress
The View host Whoopi Goldberg moved actress Anne Hathaway to tears as she praised her during the episode that aired on Monday.
The Odyssey actress’ reaction to Whoopi’s words was unexpectedly emotional when the TV star said, "Anne Hathaway, it has been wonderful seeing you."
"Don't,' Anne warned Whoopi as she appeared to become overwhelmed.
Whoopi continued, “It’s been wonderful watching you grow up. And you have just blossomed, turned into this fabulous actress. Girl!”
Anne covered her face for a moment and started to tear up, saying, "No, don't!"
"Yes!' the comedian added. “Well, it’s something you need to know and remember."
To which, Ane replied, "I would be crying if I wasn't pregnant right now."
"I don't know what to say," Anne added as she continued to cry. "Thank you. You know how I feel about you."
For those unversed, Anne is currently expecting her third child with her husband Adam Shulman. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, already shares two sons - Jonathan and Jack.
On the professional front, Anne's new film The Odyssey is in theaters now. She plays the role of Penelope - the wife of Odysseus - in the film.
