Shakira reflects on historic FIFA Halftime show
Shakira talked about the unforgettable FIFA World Cup after making history.
The global superstar performed at the tournament's first-ever halftime show and shared some moments that meant the most to her while speaking with People Magazine.
Shakira said that she loved watching fans embrace Dai Dai, the official World Cup anthem she recorded with Burna Boy, saying it was heartwarming to see supporters around the world dancing to the song and celebrating together.
She said, "This World Cup has been so special for so many reasons."
"I loved seeing the reaction to the song ‘Dai Dai’ and how it brought people together, seeing people do the choreo and celebrate together with it," the singer added.
Furthermore, Shakira also praised Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha for becoming a national hero during his country's remarkable run and applauded Lionel Messi for breaking the tournament's all-time scoring record.
It is pertinent to mention that ahead of the tournament, she celebrated the Argentine icon on Instagram Stories. Shakira called his achievements "beyond extraordinary" and praising his dedication and discipline.
She wrote, "What @lionelmessi is doing is beyond extraordinary!"
"It shows the values of a man who is deeply committed and disciplined, challenging time and all odds. Proving that a person is not defined by age or what others say," Shakira added.
