Sam Neill's sudden death: Hollywood remembers legendary actor
Tributes poured out over the unexpected death of Sam Neill
At the loss of Sam Neill, many leading figures in Hollywood were in deep sorrow over losing an actor who had an everlasting impact on the industry.
Outpouring of tributes, beginning with Colin Trevorrow, who helmed Jurassic World Dominion, wrote on Instagram, “Sam Neill was a deeply soulful and beautiful man. He was a friend and collaborator at a challenging time, and his strength gave us all strength."
"I’ll remember him for his tranquility, his love of wine, and for the calm assuredness he brought to his characters. It’s not every lifetime you get to befriend a legend. Forever grateful.”
Besides being a front-face of the Jurassic Park franchise, Neill also had been a key part of Peaky Blinders.
As the series official account on Instagram penned, “We are devastated to hear that Sam Neill has died. Sam’s portrayal of Chester Campbell is one for the ages."
"A villain who is despicable, petty, manipulative, but also charismatic, vulnerable, funny and supremely entertaining to watch."
"Sam was one of the key forces that got ‘Peaky Blinders’ off to a running start, for which we will be forever grateful. Our love and thoughts are with his family.”
Beyond the luminaries of the industry, politicians of the highest order also expressed heartfelt tribute to the late actor.
As Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wrote, “Wry and dry, thoughtful and laconic, Sam fought illness with the same dignity, humor and conviction that gave strength to his every performance."
Neil died suddenly in Sydney, Australia. No cause of death is released yet. He was 78.
