Taylor Swift unknowingly united Netflix's 'Little House on the Prairie' cast
'Little House on the Prairie' actress shares how Taylor Swift bonded the cast
Though Taylor Swift has no connection with Netflix's reimagining of Little House on the Prairie, she was key to bringing the cast together.
This was revealed by Alice Halsey, who plays Laura Ingalls, in the new show.
“Listen, I am a Swiftie beyond your imagination,” she tells PEOPLE, adding, "I absolutely love her. I love all of her songs."
But not only Halsey; her co-stars, Skywalker Hughes (Mary) and Crosby Fitzgerald (Caroline) are also Swifties.
"I think that that was definitely a big bonding thing for us, Ingal," the 11-year-old shares.
"I immediately bonded over our love of pop and Taylor Swift," the actress says of Hughes, adding, “Crosby is also a Swiftie.
This, in turn, made them closer on set while filming, Halsey shares.
"I think that in the show you can definitely see how music is something that keeps us really tight, and in real life, that was the same.”
However, during the shooting, one co-star was initially not part of their unofficial Swiftie fan club.
He was Luke Bracy.
Then, when the trio became aware that the actor was not familiar with Swift's outsized influence and appeal, they hilariously set out on a mission to convert him into a Swiftie.
"And of course, when we learned that Luke was not super-duper familiar with Taylor, we were like, ‘Okay, we’re making you a Swiftie.’ So we forced him to listen to ‘Anti-Hero’ 500 times," Halsey joked.
But do their frantic efforts turn Bracy in Swift's folds?
Fitzgerald tends to believe the plan is working, claiming that her on-screen husband is gradually turning toward Swift fandom.
“He is learning,” she shares of the actor, adding, “He’s learning, and he actually loves it."
Fitzgerald continues, "He gets a real kick out of it, and he has fun too. We have our little moments with Luke, but I’m really trying."
The actress even shared that he tried to convince Bracy to watch the documentary on Swift's hit concert tour.
"Last night I was trying to really talk him into watching the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour documentary."
"I was like, ‘You’re going to love it.’ And he’s like, ‘Alright, mate, I’ll check it out.'"
