Why Millie Bobby Brown says filming 'Enola Holmes 3' was 'not Malta-friendly'?

Though Millie Bobby Brown loved the Enola Holmes 3's wedding theme, wearing period costumes during intense heat in Malta made it a little difficult to shoot.

In a recent chat on Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Stranger Things actress, who is reprising Sherlock Holmes' younger sister’s role, shared some behind the scene obstacles the crew faced while filming Enola Holmes 3.

As Malta mostly remains sunny even during cold months, Millie recalled, “It was hot and being in that clothing...it was not Malta-friendly.”

She detailed, “I had to have a serious sit-down with production about bringing in more fans and air conditioning tents for the crew. Basically my sole job for two months was keeping the crew and cast cool.”

Millie also noted that soaring heat made it difficult to focus on filming.

“It's like when I filmed Stranger Things season 4 in New Mexico. We were filming in the desert, and I'm trying to focus, but I can't keep my eyes open because the sun and the sand was so bright ... There's so many added environment-like issues that you can face on set that you'd never think to an audience eye.”

Still the sweaty weather did not stop Millie from reprising her famed detective role and she fell in love with the wedding theme which prompted her to look back at her and husband Jake Bongiovi Italy wedding in October 2024.

“I never, never thought we'd ever leave London, so that was really exciting,” she gushed. “The whole wedding theme was really exciting because I just got married myself, so I was ‘Ah, I get to do it all over again.’ ”

Enola Holmes 3 is all set to release on Netflix on July 1.
