Cara Delevingne reveals how she nearly died while trying to get sober: ‘It was horrible’

Following the loss of her multiple jobs, the actress and model realised she needed to change but because Cara had already messed up by taking too many substances, dealing with it was hard for her.

While trying to quit, Cara overdosed after unknowingly taking cocaine that she believes contained opioids.

The 33-year-old actress said on The Louis Theroux Podcast "It went super quiet. Everyone went very silent.

"And I knew I needed to get sober, so I medically was weaned off GBL, which probably is the hardest one to come off.

"But I couldn't do it at home. I couldn't deal because the more sober I got, the more I realised how badly I f*** up."

Cara explained that she overdosed and was treated with naloxone before waking up in hospital.

"I was narcanned... was in hospital... I was being held down by men to a thing, and I didn't know what was happening. It was horrible," she recalled.

"My girlfriend [had] called the police. The ambulance, police, whatever. Horrible for her."

After waking up, she admitted: "Immediately. I was like, 'I can’t'." "Immediately. I was like, 'I can’t'.

Cara also looked back at the viral 2022 photos taken after Burning Man, revealing she had suffered a seizure and was not sober.

She said: "[I was] mentally unwell for sure... I’d just had a seizure. I was not sober, for sure."
