George Clooney reveals his top choice for next James Bond: 'He is charming and British'

George Clooney wants Callum Turner to play in upcoming James Bond films as the 007 agent.

​The 61-year-old actor and director gushed over Callum, whom he worked with in the 2023 film The Boys in the Boat, calling him the "perfect" fit, as the search for the next James Bond is going in full swing.

​George told The Hollywood Reporter, "I hope Callum ends up being the next Bond. I think he would be a great Bond.”

​In the Ocean's Eleven star's opinion, Callum would be “the perfect guy to do it” because he “is tall and handsome and charming and British”.

​During the past months, several actors have been linked to the role, including Jacob Elordi, Harris Dickinson and Jack Lowden, but Turner has remained quiet about the rumors.

​When the outlet asked Callum about his possibility of becoming Bond, he responded, “I know as much as you do – really, I know as much as you do.”​

On whether he would like to play the role, Callum said , “I am not going to comment on that.”

​He further said of the speculations, “I will tell you what’s so funny about the Bond thing: Even your best friends ask you, people text you that you haven’t spoken to for 10 years – and you know nothing! It is such a weird thing of something happening and nothing happening at all. I genuinely know nothing. I just find it quite amusing.”

​After Daniel Craig said goodbye to his infamous role, Amazon MGM confirmed that the search for the next James Bond is underway.

​They said in a statement, "The search for the next James Bond is underway.

​"While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right."
