Steven Spielberg makes surprise claim about aliens visiting Earth
Steven Spielberg says he had to believe in aliens in the wake of what he saw as mounting evidence
Ahead of Disclosure Day, director Steven Spielberg, who is dealing with extraterrestrial life in the film, says he believes in aliens.
The 79-year-old did not stop there.
He went a step further, claiming aliens have visited the Earth.
His remarks come as he promoted the upcoming sci-fi thriller.'
In the movie, Spielberg said that a lot of work has gone into showing that non-human intelligent life exists.
"Based on a preponderance of visual evidence and testimony, I have no doubt that we have been visited by off-world species since Roswell in 1947," the filmmaker said.
The team behind Disclosure Day researched publicly available evidence on UFOs and interviewed those who have claimed to have made contact with extraterrestrial life.
In the wake of purportedly mounting evidence, Spielberg added, "I was less a believer [before] because I always said, 'I've got to see one to believe one,' but now there's too much circumstantial evidence."
Disclosure Day will hit cinemas on June 12.
