Machine Gun Kelly reveals health scare that left him unable to sleep
Machine Gun Kelly details painful recovery after extreme blackout tattoo procedure
Machine Gun Kelly, also known as MGK has opened up about serious health scare he experienced while undergoing the blackout tattoo transformation that covers much of his upper body.
Speaking with Billboard Canada, the rapper revealed that tattoo project took significant toll on his health after he chose to complete process in 2 months instead of 2 years recommended by tattoo artist.
As per MGk, the intense schedule led to severe physical complications. The musician recalled experiencing alarming symptoms, including his skin turning yellow, an inability to sleep and difficulty moving parts of his upper body.
MGK said, "After the first week, we hit my lymph nodes around my armpits and shoulders, and I got really sick. My skin was turning yellow. I wasn't able to sleep. I stopped being able to move certain parts of my upper body."
Despite the toll, MGK came out of recovery "extremely inspired."
"Not just because of what I had done, but because of what I had to overcome," he said.
The blackout tattoo, first unveiled in 2024, was created by tattoo artist ROXX and was intended to mark a new chapter in the performer’s life and career.
Machine Gun Kelly said, "I was looking for a change that wasn't just a sound wave. It had to be something physical."
Previously, MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker described the tattoo journey as the most painful experience of his life.
