Taylor Swift gets nostalgic as she drops new song for 'Toy Story 5'

Following the multiple hints of Taylor Swift's involvement in upcoming animated movie Toy Story 5, the pop artist just dropped new song I Knew It, I Knew You from the soundtrack to Disney and Pixar’s film.

​The song marked her first country song in years which captured Jessie's journey in the film.

​Taking it to Instagram, Taylor penned down a heartfelt note, recalling how she has always been a fan of the Toy Story franchise since she was five.

​"Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond."

​The Oplaite hitmaker also shared a throwback video of herself when she was five, in cowgirl attire, stomping her feet in boots.

​She then expressed gratitude to the team, noting, "Thank you to the brilliant Andrew Stanton for imagining me for this, all those years ago when you wrote this newest film. Thank you to the incomparable @randynewmanofficial for the gorgeous sonic tapestry of songs and scores you’ve meticulously woven over the years. You created the Toy Story musical world, and we are lucky to get to live in it."

​Taylor also said a special thanks to her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, who helped her co-write and co-produce the song.

​She added, "By we, I mean myself and my pal @jackantonoff. We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods. “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5 is out everywhere now."

​Toy Story 5 is all set to hit theaters on June 19, 2026.
