Amy Lee, front woman of Evanescence is thrilled that her son loves metal music.

The rock star said the group’s shows with Metallica on the latter's M72 Tour across Australia and New Zealand proved more memorable than she expected, and that it reminded the star of her childhood love of music.

Amy explained to Loudwire, "I got to bring my son, who's 11 now - just at the perfect age to fall in love with metal.”

"They were so great, they were so gracious. You never know how it's going to be coming into somebody else's world,” she added.

Amy continued of her experience, "Him getting to experience that in the stadium, rain gently starts falling during Nothing Else Matters, I'm just watching his mind go like, 'I'm in.'”

"It was such a good thing for my heart and took me back to being that age and falling in love with music,” she recalled.

Evanescence is releasing its sixth studio album, Sanctuary, on Friday and Amy thinks it will connect with listeners because of its relatable lyrics.

The Bring Me to Life hitmaker said, "I feel like we're in a moment where words are really important, and every single line is an opportunity, it's a chance to say something that's going to impact somebody.”

"Hopefully, in a positive way, make them feel something, whether it's feeling understood or not alone in something, or just they're not alone in the craziness of everything going on in the world right now,” she further mentioned, adding, "It's f***** up and it feels like all of our control is being ripped away."

The album's release comes almost a year after former Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura, stepped back from the music industry for the foreseeable future, because of the "overwhelming amount of ridiculousness that comes with the music industry nowadays."
