Katie Price's hopeful update on husband Lee Andrews challeged by his ex
Katie Price speaks to Lee Andrews after days of disappearance
Katie Price has claimed she has finally spoken to her husband Lee Andrews after nearly two weeks of uncertainty over his whereabouts in Dubai.
The reality star has said Lee contacted her in a short phone call from Al Awir prison, a jail in Dubai known for its harsh conditions. Katie also revealed Lee told her he had been arrested on suspicion of espionage—a claim that has already been challenged by Lee's ex Alana Percival.
While reports circulate that he is expected to be released on Monday, Alana has shared her own two cents on the matter, questioning whether his reported release date would actually happen. "Watch Monday never come. He told me tomorrow tomorrow for 3 weeks and a spy charge well," she wrote on Instagram.
Lee, 43, first disappeared almost two weeks ago while reportedly travelling to London to join Katie for a television appearance. During that time, Katie publicly said she feared he had been kidnapped after receiving alarming messages and videos from him.
Now per a recent phone call Katie had with him, Lee is alive and okay. “I have found him – he is alive, and he is ok,” Katie told The Sun.
She added, “I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy.”
The update came days after reports had already claimed Lee had been arrested in Dubai. Katie had previously denied those claims and insisted he was still missing.
Reports now say Lee was detained on May 14. His father Peter had also earlier told media outlets that his son was under arrest, although he said it was over an unknown charge.
It is pertinent to mention that Dubai’s Al Awir prison has gained a reputation for overcrowded conditions and serious treatment allegations involving inmates. Reports claim prisoners can be held in cramped shared cells for long periods.
Katie had spent the past several days asking followers for help and sharing emotional messages online while trying to locate Lee. She also claimed that during an earlier FaceTime call, she saw him with his hands tied with cable wires and a hood over his head inside a van.
