Dog off lead sends sheep to their deaths: Heres what happened

According to Voice, a runaway dog near Kelsey Head on Sunday slipped its lead, which scared the sheep nearby.

Three died when five of them plunged into the cliff while two sheep somehow managed to come back to the top.

A string of rescue crews from Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team, Newquay RNLI Lifeboats, and RNLI Lifeguards reached the spot to save the sheep.

Following the horrific incident, a Coast Guard spokesperson said, “We wish to remind dog owners of the importance of keeping your dog on a lead whilst in the vicinity of the coast path, no matter how well trained or behaved they are."

“Not only is there a risk of harm to livestock, but we regularly attend incidents where dogs have gone over the edge, many of which prove to be fatal.”
