But to achieve this, he employed several strategies.

The first being the element of surprise.

Fans have no idea that the Canadian rapper is dropping two albums, in addition to Iceman.

Then, the stunt with the ice blocks in the middle of Toronto.

However, there is another marketing strategy, it appears, that Drizzy did.

Trevor Noah, a comic and a host, hints at it in a recent conversation.

It is called 'Fake Trend'

In this, a campaign was allegedly given to influencers on social media on the basis of making videos on them.

It is done in a bid to make it go viral, and in return the influencer gets paid for how many views they manage to get.

Noah suggests Drake did it with his new album.

"I think Drake did this voice's latest album; it's pretty brilliant."

He continues, They've gone out to everyone online, not just like, quote unquote, influencers."

"They've got it; you join this platform, I forget the name of the platform, and essentially it sells the services of just the people online."

"And what happens is, I can come on there and say, as Trevor, I have a campaign that I want to launch."

Noah explains how it worked

"I have $10,000, and I pay it to the service," he shares.

"The service then goes out to everyone who signed up for it, who's just a regular person online, and says to them."

"Hey, find a way to play this song, find a way to make this campaign go viral, and we pay you per view. So you don't pay people who failed."

Drake, meanwhile, it seems, is ruling the roost, with three albums at once becoming chart-toppers.
