Seth Rogen shares strong opinion on AI use in Hollywood: 'Go do something else'
The actor and comedian took an aim at writers using AI for scripts
Seth Rogen has expressed his pointed remarks for writers who take the help of artificial intelligence for their creative work.
The producer and comedian, who stepped out at the Cannes Film Festival to promote his new animated movie Tangles, said to Brut that creators who are using AI when writing a script means “you shouldn’t be a writer.”
Seth, who is serving as a co-producer and a voice actor for his film, went to bash those who use AI in filmmaking, saying, “I don’t understand what it’s supposed to do. Every time I see a video on Instagram that’s like, ‘Hollywood is cooked,’ what follows is the most stupid dog s*** I’ve ever seen in my life. And if your instinct is to use AI and not go through that process. You shouldn’t be a writer. Because you’re not writing.”
He further remarked, “Go do something else. And if you don’t want to go through the process, you shouldn’t be a writer. The idea of a tool that makes me write less is not appealing to me, because I like writing.”
While sharing insights about his own new animated film, Seth shared that Tangles was entirely “hand-drawn animation. Every frame has a human touch to it, which is great.”
Seth Rogen's animated film Tangles is currently not announced for an official theatrical release; it only premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week.
