Taylor Hanson shares his raw take on residency
Taylor Hanson reveals why he prefers touring over residency
Taylor Hanson recently got candid and revealed why he would prefer touring over residency.
On Friday, May 8, Taylor attended the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala, where he told PEOPLE magazine about his inclination towards touring despite considering the fact that residencies are being done by almost every singer.
Articulating his thoughts, the 43-year-old American musician said, "I think residencies make a lot of sense for bands. I like moving. I like being on the move.”
"One of the best parts about making music is being able to see the world. So, I could see why [a residency] would be appealing, and I wouldn't say it will never happen, but I would miss going to the places that I get to go to,” he noted.
Taylor went on to note that the best part about touring is that it gives him a chance to meet fans from all over the world.
"No one has an answer for why people continue to show up to shows and follow bands. For me, I do music because I love it, and hopefully fans feel that. It's an exchange of love. It's a connection… It's just an honor to get to be a part of people's lives through music,” he explained.
It is pertinent to mention that Taylor Hanson, whose most recent album Red Green Blue in collaboration with his brothers Zac and Isaac was released in 2022, will perform in more than 12 shows through December 2026.
