Nick Cannon breaks silence on daughter's 'one' sibling comment

Nick Cannon is setting the record straight on his daughter's remark that she has only "one" sibling.

​After the rapper, who shares more than 10 kids with multiple partners, made controversial remarks on allowing his teenage son to date but not his daughter, he sat down with Shannon Sharpe for his Club Shay Shay podcast and defended  his 15-year-old daughter's "one" sibling remark that it was taken out of context.

​Monroe, whom Nick shares with his ex wife Maria Carrey, took to her Instagram account back in November and shared a post stating, "Clearing something up guys, i only have ONE brother who is @moroccan.cannon. i do have other half siblings from my dad but they are all many many years younger than me!"

​Now, Nick took a moment to reflect on her statement and said, “My daughter just recently went viral, and it’s so funny because the world thought that it was about a conversation that was something that it wasn’t.”

​He continued to explain, "It was really about 14-year-olds talking. There was like some, a couple kids online saying that they were my kids’ siblings. Like, ‘Oh that’s my sister, oh that’s my brother.’

​"So my daughter wanted to clear it up and be like, ‘I only have one brother, like literally in her age group. All these other guys that are saying they’re my brother are not my brother.’”

​It is pertinent to mention that Nick and Maria, who parted ways in 2014 before their divorce in 2016, are parents to twins Monroe and Moroccan.

​In addition to his twins, Nick welcomed twins Zillion Heir and Zion Mixolydian and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole; son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and sons Rise Messiah and Golden Sagon as well as daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell.

​He is also father to daughter Halo Marie and son Zen, who died at 5 months old after being diagnosed with brain cancer. He shares Halo and Zen with Alyssa Scott.
