Names of 2026 Met Gala non attendees revealed

The Met Gala is an exclusive annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City, held on the first Monday in May.

The event will be attended by the rich and famous, but a few celebrities won’t be in attendance.

While people are curious about the attendees of the Met Gala 2026, they are equally eager to know the names of non-attendees.

Donald Trump, Tina Fey, Jack Schlossberg, Lili Reinhart, Zayn Malik, Tim Gunn, Amy Schumer, and Demi Lovato are some of the famous names who won't be attending the gala.

Apart from US President Donald Trump, most of the aforementioned celebrities are known for criticizing the event after one or more attendances.

Anna Wintour, as the long-running Chair of the Met Gala since 1995, acts as the ultimate authority and "gatekeeper" of the event.

During a 2017 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the host asked Wintour who she would never invite back to the esteemed event.

With no hesitation, she answered, “Donald Trump.”

Some people are expected to stay away from Met Gala 2026 due to Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sánchez's behind-the-scenes involvement this year.On Monday, Nov. 17, the couple was announced as the primary donors funding the 2026 Met Gala.
