Rock icon Lindsey Buckingham suffers horrific attack from stalker
Lindsey Buckingham, the co-lead singer of Fleetwood Mac, was in Los Angeles when he was attacked
Lindsey Buckingham, rock icon and best known for his longtime contributions to the band Fleetwood Mac was attacked in Los Angeles.
The 76-year-old was set upon by a woman while he was arriving for an appointment in Santa Monica, multiple law enforcement sources reported.
She splashed an unidentified substance at Buckingham when he entered the building and then fled the scene, according to NBC 4 Los Angeles.
The culprit has been described as a stalking suspect, and law enforcement insiders say Buckingham was aware of her from prior incidents.
In the attack it is said that the singer has not been injured and an arrest is expected to be made before long with both the Santa Monica Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department on the case.
The woman is said to have ascertained the time and location of Buckingham's appointment this Wednesday and made her way to the site.
Buckingham was born in the Bay Area of California in 1949 and joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and enlisted his then-lover Stevie Knicks to the band.
Their tempestuous personal and professional relationship defined the band's beautiful era, which produced albums such as their iconic, Rumours.
However, Buckingham and Knicks ended their love story in 1976, and personal conflicts within the band led to his rather explosive departure in 1987.
But Linsey Buckingham returned a decade later and toured with Fleetwood Mac around the world until another professional problem in 2018, with Stevie Knicks led him to be fired from the group that gave him his fame.
