Camila Morrone issues challenge to Hollywood as it pressures women
'Death Wish' star Camila Morrone rejects 'tradition and conformity' in motherhood debate
Camila Morrone is raving about women who defy social norms and embrace motherhood in their forties.
While conversing with Poter magazine, the 28-year-old American-Argentine actress and model opened up about playing Countess Ellen Olenska in a forthcoming Netflix limited series adaptation, The Age of Innocence.
Voicing her thoughts, Morrone stated that the entertainment world is “expanding” its doors for women and she has started noticing these changes after opting for the role of Olenska.
She revealed that she is “inherently a feminist” who questions “things – like this idea that there's a time clock on women, that you have to make it or you'll lose it all” as well as “tradition, conformity, what's expected of us.”
The Night Manager star went on to highlight that “we've been trained to fear getting older, especially in Hollywood.”
However, she now feels that “the possibilities are just expanding. I love that the norm now can be first-time moms in their forties. I'm all about breaking up with what we think we know. And being pro-women at all costs - it really is that simple,” Morrone quipped.
Notably, Camila Morrone is currently in a relationship with Cole Bennett after she ended her famous five-year relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio in 2022.
It is pertinent to mention that The Age of Innocence does not have a release date yet, as Netflix announced the series in April 2025, while the production began in Prague towards the end of 2025.
