'Batman' director sends blunt message to fans as they create casting storm
'Batman' director, though, adds that he does get curious about fans' speculation over casting
The Brave and the Bold is arguably the most anticipated movie in the new DCU. To avoid confusion, there are two Batmen in the comic franchise, set in separate universes.
The first is obviously portrayed by the heartthrob Robert Pattinson under the direction of Matt Reeves.
But who will play the second Batman in The Brave and the Bold is yet to be decided.
Though there have been names in the mix for the main lead.
From Alan Ritchson to Jonathan Bailey and Jensen Ackles. However, no name is confirmed yet.
Amid this excitement, Andy Muschietti, who is set to direct the film, has dropped a reality bomb to the DC fans who are wildly speculating on the internet over the cast.
The director, who has previously helmed The Flash, told CinemaBlend that he is always curious to get to who fans want to play the big lead.
But he adds that the decision ultimately rests on him and the film's producer, Barbara Muschietti.
"I love our people, love our audiences, but in the end, you know, I think that the one thing that we get to do is to pick our cast.
On the other hand, James Gunn, who is serving as DC boss, also recently added fuel to the fire with the suggestion that he has a few favourites in mind to play Batman.
"Do I have ideas about actors to play Batman?" he said, adding, "Absolutely I do. I have guys I like. I have guys that are at the top of the list, just like I had people that were at the top of the list for Superman."
However, similar to Muschietti, he is not giving away spoilers either. "People can guess, and maybe they'll be right about certain things."
The Brave and the Bold is set to hit the theatres in October 2027, and Batman won't be alone this time.
Instead, he will team up with his son, Damian Wayne, also known as Robin.
