'Blue Bloods' actor Alex Duong breathes his last
The comedian was diagnosed with a rare type of soft tissue cancer in 2025
Alex Duong, known for his stand up comedy, tragically passed away at the age of 42 after a year-long intense battle with cancer.
A close pal of the comedian and actor, Hilarie Steele, who was with Alex at the time of passing, revealed the death news to TMZ.
Hilarie, Alex's friend, revealed that the 'Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle' star went into septic shock on Friday night and breathed his last at 11 am on Saturday at a medical center in California.
The 'Blue Bloods' actor was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
For those unversed, Alex was diagnosed with a rare type of tissue cancer, alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, which affects muscles in the legs, arms, neck, head and abdomen, as per the Cleveland Clinic.
In the memory of Alex, touching tributes have started to pour in.
Comedian Taylor Williamson wrote that he is "devastated" to hear the loss of his "sweet and hilarious" friend Alex.
"Such a beautiful soul who would tell me how much he loved his daughter Everest and how special she was to him every time we talked. A good man who always had positive energy even in the hardest times. So much so that I didn’t think this was going to happen," Taylor penned.
Another fellow artist, comedian Mike Lawrence, also penned down a sentimental tribute, read, “Just heard about the tragic passing of Alex Duong who had been dealing with health issues for some time. He was a funny comic, great roast battler, and rarest of all, a gentle, sweet person that truly loved making people laugh just for the pure sake of it. It’s a weird community where we publicly goof on each other and don’t always say how much we appreciate someone. Well Alex, I very much appreciated you. Rest in peace.”
