Doja Cat reveals struggle with being 'happy' amid mental health diagnosis
Doja Cat dishes on pretending to 'like everything is okay'
Doja Cat opened up about her mental health struggles as she has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.
The singer, who has been struggling with her condition for years, took to her TikTok account on Friday to share her diagnosis.
"I've learned from a very young age to pretend that I like stuff, to pretend that I'm happy, to pretend that I don't like stuff that I do, to appear like everything is okay," Doja Cat said in the video. "I'll get it done. And it caught up with me, and I think it always does for people. I'm now struggling with BPD."
She revealed that it's been "probably forever" for her struggle and that it's been "agonizing."
Doja Cat further shared, "I've been in therapy for years now, and I am so relieved and so proud of myself. I've made it so far, and I still make mistakes."
She added that it's been quite a journey of "treatment and healing."
According to Clevelandclinic website, "Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a mental health condition that affects your ability to regulate your emotions. You may experience periods of feeling intense and often uncontrollable emotions after a triggering event. As a result, it can affect the way you see yourself and cause you to act impulsively, which can disrupt relationships in your life."
