Justin Bieber hit with disappointing news as 'Baby' song ranks again
The song has received mixed reviews from both fans and critics since its release
Justin Bieber shot to stardom with his song Baby. Released in 2010, the track made the Canadian singer a sensation with the public.
Now, over a decade later, the song is ranked again, but Bieber may not appreciate its new position.
In a list compiled by TheTopTens, Baby is ranked the worst song of the 21st century.
Though the song has a loyal fanbase, there are also many who dislike it for its repetitive structure and high-pitched vocals, making it one of the most disliked music videos on YouTube.
Bieber, similar to the social media reactions, said Baby - at first - was not his favourite track.
In a previous interview with Amazon Music, the musician said, ”I remember hearing the song at first and not — you know, I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this, but I’ll just say it — not being super in love with the song."
However, his views changed when Scooter Braun, his then-manager, convinced him to listen to the track after adding his vocals.
“When I got my voice on it, I immediately was just like, you know, ‘This is such a special record.'”
Despite the negative reactions, Baby has amassed 3.9 million digital downloads and 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.
