Julian Reese’s early NBA career received a major show of family support this week as his sister, WNBA star Angel Reese, attended a Washington Wizards game wearing his jersey.
According to The Spun, the Wizards recently signed Julian Reese, out of the G League. He made his NBA debut over the weekend and started again Tuesday night when Washington faced the Orlando Magic.
Angel Reese, who plays forward for the Chicago Sky, was seen courtside during the game wearing a Washington Wizards jersey with her brother’s name.
Speaking to Monumental Sports about the moment, Reese explained how quickly she decided to support her brother after learning about his signing.
"As soon as I heard he was going to be on the team, I was like… I need a jersey," she said.
Reese also spoke about how emotional the moment was for her family: “I was emotional when I found out I was crying, I was just so happy, because my mom was able to raise me and my brother. We were able to go to Maryland and play in front of our family.”
Julian Reese finished Tuesday’s game with nine points and eight rebounds in 33 minutes. The Wizards ultimately lost the game to the Orlando Magic 126-109.
