Gordon Ramsay makes hilarious joke over daughter's wedding dress
Gordon Ramsay insists he was only joking when he made a comment about his daughter's wedding dress
Gordon Ramsay, known for his no-nonsense approach in the kitchen and a reputation for grilling anyone whose culinary taste he did not like, was in tears at his daughter Holly's wedding.
To turn the emotional moment into a joke, he says he was crying after seeing the price tag on the dress her daughter wore on her special day.
Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, he says, "I was very emotional, I was crying because I realised how expensive the dress was then."
His remark, though it was a joke, was rooted in reality. Holly opted for a bridal gown from Elie Saab, a Lebanese designer known for designing pricey dresses.
In addition to the bridal dress, Ramsay clarified that his tears, in reality, stemmed from pride in his daughter, adding that she has grown up to be an "amazing lady."
Holly, similarly, previously revealed her father cried the most at her wedding. “Dad cries every time I talk about the wedding. The other day I was asking him which car he and I would take to the church, and he welled up immediately.”
Ramsay's daughter tied the knot with the Olympian Adam Peaty in December last year.
