Yerin Ha stars as the female lead in 'Bridgerton 4' alongside Luke Thompson
Yerin Ha has shared how starring the fourth installment of Bridgerton has helped her renew her identity.
For those unversed, Bridgerton season 4 will arrive in two parts, with Part 1 premiering 29th January on Netflix, followed by Part 2 on 26th February 2026.
In a new chat with InStyle, the rising star opened up about the deeply personal impact of stepping into the role of Sophie Baek, revealing that the character sparked a meaningful internal shift.
She explained that playing Sophie prompted her to reflect on her own relationship with self-worth, especially as a woman navigating the entertainment industry.
“Being a woman in this industry, it's a massive thing. People think that they have the right to talk about your body, how you look, and your external appearance," Ha said.
She went on to share that these pressures have taken a lasting toll.
“I've dealt with body image and that shame for a very, very long time — and I'm still working through it."
Before turning to another topic, the actress emphasized that Sophie's journey resonated with her in a powerful way, noting that the character taught her “a lot about self-love and self-acceptance.”
Ha also recalled reading An Offer from a Gentleman, the Julia Quinn novel that centers on Benedict’s love story, in just one sitting after accepting the role of Sophie.
Reflecting on her initial reaction to the book, she admitted with a laugh, “My first thought was, 'Oh no, the intimacy scenes.' "
