Chris Hemsworth leans on Matt Damon amid his shaky marriage to Elsa Pataky?
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have been married since 2010
Chris Hemsworth is reportedly at the door of top-tier Hollywood actor, as his marriage to Elsa Pataky faces serious strain.
For those unaware, the 42-year-old Australian actor and the 49-year-old Spanish model and actress, who met at the start of 2010, tied the knot towards the end of that year and now share three children together, namely India, Tristan, and Sasha.
Radar Online now reported that Hemsworth and Pataky’s marriage is on the verge of falling apart after 15 years of togetherness.
An insider told the outlet that to save his relationship, The Avengers star has turned to his close friend Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso for tips on how to save his tumultuous union with Pataky.
The source revealed, "Chris is away so much – he's generally shooting in America while Elsa stays in Australia with the kids. She hasn't taken on nearly as many projects as he has, but she's on location in Europe a lot."
"They've really drifted apart - everyone in their lives has noticed the crazy passion they used to have is missing,” they explained. “They aren't having huge blowup fights, but Chris has been complaining that things are just off track and he's at loss as to how to fix it."
Notably, the main reason Hemsworth leans on Damon and Luciana for guidance is because they lived through a rocky patch in their marriage.
Per the source, "Matt is very sympathetic. He and Lucy were at rock bottom not that long ago – he had even stopped wearing his wedding ring. Everyone was saying a split was coming, but then they pulled back from the brink."
Damon and Luciana “really worked on things, they did therapy and committed to spending more time together, so it did take effort, but it was worth it."
Now, the Interstellar star is pushing Hemsworth to do the same things he did to save his marriage.
"He can see the deep love Chris and Elsa have for each other, so he's urging Chris to take a break from his crazy routine to put the time into his relationship," noted the insider.
Damon also supported Ben Affleck, his Good Will Hunting co-star, during his divorce and alcohol addiction.
On the Monday, January 12 episode of The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM, the host asked Damon, “Could you go to Ben and say, ‘I’m here to help you?’”
He responded, “Oh, yeah, our relationship isn’t affected by what people are saying. I was there for all of it.”
“That means a lot to me. That’s sort of what a real friend is,” Affleck acknowledged.
