KATSEYE are looking back on a defining moment in their fast-rising career.

As fans will know, the global girl group starred in Gap's inclusive denim campaign, Better in Denim, in August 2025.

The commercial arrived shortly after Sydney Sweeney's controversial American Eagle ad and quickly made waves for its emphasis on individuality and representation.

Now, in a new chat with PEOPLE Magazine, the group reflected on the overwhelming response to the campaign and how it resonated far beyond their expectations.

Band member Laforteza described the opportunity as a major milestone, explaining that she was well aware of Gap's long-standing cultural influence before signing on.

She noted how “iconic” the brand's advertising legacy has been over the years, making it especially meaningful for KATSEYE to be part of it.

“Us being as KATSEYE, one of the things we love to do and what we strive to do is represent and celebrate our individualities,” Laforteza said. “And I think that was one of the main intentions of this ad.”

While the Grammy-nominated group sensed the campaign might connect with audiences, Laforteza admitted they were still taken aback by just how big the response became.

She recalled that the group “had an inkling” the project could be “huge,” but the reality exceeded their expectations.

“But once everything came out, it definitely did shock us just how many people it reached and how many people were inspired,” she shared before concluding.
