Katy Perry explains why she gets 'attached' to certain scents

Katy Perry has shared what exactly she looks for in a fragrance.

In a new chat with Australia’s Marie Claire magazine, the mother of Daisy Dove admitted to being “very particular” about fragrances.

However, she revealed that she has found her new favourite scent, Dolce+ Gabbana’s new perfume My Devotion, and always opts for fragrances similar to it.

Explaining her choice, she said, “It’s very luscious and sweet.

“I’m very particular about my scent, and I’ve never really strayed far from certain ingredients.

“Devotion is my new elevated version of that cocktail. It felt so authentically me," the Roar hitmaker added.

“I felt cosy and sweet and young and delicious. It felt like flirting and falling in love for the first time.”

Moreover, Perry revealed that her attachment to certain scents runs deep, largely because of the memories they hold.

She explained, “The scent of the ocean and salty crisp air take me back to Santa Barbara, where I was born.

In addition to this, she said that vanilla, in particular, has long been a staple for her.

“And the scent of vanilla, which I’ve been wearing since I was 15,” she concluded remarking that she admires "the work of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana" due to their "creative boldness."
