Bobbi Althoff avoids this online habit for mental health's sake

Bobbi Althoff, a popular podcaster, shares that she previously read all the comments under her posts about herself.

“I used to read every comment section about me,” she tells People. This, in turn, impacted her mental health. 

Now, she says, she avoids doing this, adding, “And now if I see something, I just scroll past it.”

Crediting this change to therapy and advice from others, Bobbi says, “A lot of therapy. I had a lot of people reach out to me who are celebrities, and they were like, ‘You’ve really got to stop reading comments. It’s not healthy.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the internet celebrity reflects on her struggles with body image, stating she was anxious as she modeled for a brand, but recently had Botox in her jaw.

“I guess it moved into my smile, so I couldn’t smile at all,” she shares. “I felt so crazy, like I couldn’t smile. But I feel [the photos] still turned out really, really good.”

Her anxiousness is due to a perception, the young podcaster says, she had. “Before I was on social media and stuff, I would just look at people who looked perfect, and I assumed that they just were born that way. I think a lot of people just get stuff done, especially in L.A.”

However, Bobbi ultimately learned that being happy 'under your skin' is a mantra for a good life.

"I think the one thing it does do is I think it helps people be more happy with how they were born and be happy with what they already had because it's like, look at how wrong it can go."
