Amanda Seyfried compares herself to Sydney Sweeney in rare confession
Amanda Seyfried called working with Sydney Sweeney 'really fun'
Amanda Seyfried is sharing some insights into her close bond with costar Sydney Sweeney, noting she believes they are similar to each other in multiple ways.
In a recent chat with the BBC, the 40-year-old actress talked about her upcoming mystery-thriller The Housemaid.
As Amanda and Sydney share screen in the film, The Mean Girl alum thinks she and the Euphoria star share "uncanny" similarities.
“There's a similarity between us that is uncanny, and it's really fun to work with people [who] are doing life in a similar way, have similar ideals about the job and life," she told the outlet.
While discussing her role in the movie in which she plays a housewife dealing with mental health struggle, Amanda said it was a challenging one.
“You have to play it as realistic as possible because it needs to reflect real life," she added.
In a previous chat with Vanity Fair earlier in December, Amanda praised Sydney for how she has dealt with criticism amid fame.
"I don’t envy anything she’s going through," she told the outlet. "I’ve spent a lot of time with her; we just hit it off immediately. She’s a sweetheart. She’s a very generous, kind person at her core. I have to be honest: I did not have a moment like she’s having ever.
"[My Mean Girls costar] Lindsay Lohan, we’re buddies, and it’s really, really, really harmful to people to have that kind of overnight spotlight. Because any press, good or bad, is still a blinding spotlight, and you have to maneuver and negotiate your way around it and outside of it. It’s acrobatics that I don’t think most people are capable of figuring it out at that age," Amanda explained.
