Amy Sedaris reveals how unusual pandemic ritual sparked creative club

Amy Sedarisis spoke about her coloring club, which she started with pal Andy Cohen.

The 66-year-old comedian is sharing some insights into her coloring and how it started after she got COVID and had to quarantine.

“It began because I was working on a movie and I got COVID, and I never got COVID before,” she told People.

She went on to say, “And my doctor was like, ‘You don't really have to quarantine. It's different now.’ But I decided I'm going to quarantine. I stayed home for five or six days, and I just started coloring, and I remember it really calmed me down.”

Amy first revealed her creative club earlier this year during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, revealing that leaving the club costs a fee.

The Strangers with Candy alum continued to share that after she recovered from her illness, she started inviting people to join her, but at the time rules were not as strict as mentioned before.

“You don't have to be a pothead to be in it, but it's just a good thing that's calming. I have a lot of books and a lot of paint pens and crayons and just random people. We just get together and chit-chat and color," Amy shared.

The writer further noted that she keeps a variety of coloring books so that members can choose as per their preference.

“Sometimes you want something detailed and sometimes you want a big apple when you just color in the apple or something big, and you just get lost in that. I have a good gay one — filthy.” she added.

Sharing a hilarious interaction with Andy while coloring, she revealed she loves chatting while coloring, “I love it when you're talking to someone and they show me what they're coloring. I'm like, ‘This whole time I was talking to you, you were coloring balls? Really?’” Amy noted, who joked Andy is “almost done” with the gay coloring book. “That’s the best one.”
