Taylor Swift reveals how mom played secret matchmaker with Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift is sharing how her mother played the role of a matchmaker and convinced her to meet Travis Kelce, despite being "very non-athlete" in her dating preferences.

In the latest episode of Disney+ docuseries The End of Era, the 36-year-old pop star spoke about how she was against dating a sportsman before meeting her Kansas City Chiefs fiancé.

“I've been very non-athlete because I'm not one and I've always been like, 'What would we talk about?'" Taylor confessed while chatting with her mom, Andrea Swift.

The Life of a Showgirl artist then recalled how Andrea told her to see Travis after he made a public plea on his podcast, New Heights.

Taylor went on to say, "So you call me up with this tone of, 'Hey, I know you're going to not react well to this, but there's a guy...’"

“He's really cute," the 67-year-old mom added.

The August hitmaker then added with a laugh, "You said something to the effect of, "You gotta start doing something different.’ ”

Recalling how she got to know about Travis, Andrea shared, "I’m looking at the headlines and perusing around on the Internet and I see that this guy came to your show and he brought a friendship bracelet and wants to meet you. So I call up my resident expert on the Kansas City Chiefs, my cousin Robin, and I go, ‘Tell me about this guy named Travis Kelce.’ ”

Andrea's cousin's response sealed the deal for her, “She goes, ‘Oh my God, he is the nicest guy! And he really loves his mom.’ And I went, ‘Ding, ding, ding, ding.' And then I said, ‘Now, how in the world am I going to get her to meet him?’ "
