Chris Martin holds 'regrets' about Dakota Johnson split despite new romance
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson dated for eight years and got engaged before splitting
Chris Martin has regret about losing his girlfriend of eight years, Dakota Johnson.
While he’s trying to move on by dating Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, "he's still hung up on her," per sources.
Tipsters also claim that he’s only dating Sophie to get Dakota’s attention.
"He tried several times to lure Dakota back, but she was determined to break the toxic cycle," the insider said.
The Fifty Shades of Grey star began dating Coldplay frontman in 2017. The former couple sparked engagement reports in 2020 when Dakota began sporting an emerald ring.
Martin was previously married to actress from Gwyneth Paltrow and the duo,who share two kids, who "consciously uncoupled" in 2014.
The Yellow hitmaker "was on the fence about marriage and kept dangling that carrot and never following through," when he dated the Materialists star.
His hesitance over marriage was purportedly the reason the long-term relationship finally broke.
Now, "Chris is trying to move on, but there's a real sadness when he speaks about Dakota. He has a lot of regret."
Meanwhile, sources told Us Weekly of Martin and Dakota's budding romance recently, saying, "They have gone out on a few dates in London. It is still very new, but they have a lot of chemistry, and there’s a definite spark between them."
"They have a lot in common, and Chris is definitely her type," they continued. "They have bonded over being British and their love for music."
