Jerry Seinfeld says Rob Reiner's death alongside his wife Michele is 'impossibly sad'
Jerry Seinfeld mourns the loss of his mentor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner
Jerry Seinfeld is lamenting the tragic death of Rob Reiner alongside his wife, Michele Reiner.
On Sunday, December 14, the American actor, film producer, director, screenwriter, and political activist, and his wife Michele were found without signs of life in their Brentwood home in Los Angeles, California.
Their son, Nick, was alive and has now been arrested on suspicion of killing his parents, according to CNN.
As soon as the news of the high-profile Hollywood couple went viral, tributes started to pour in and Seinfeld was among those who extended their condolences to the grieving family.
Voicing his sorrow in an Instagram post, the 71-year-old American comedian and actor revealed Rob offered his unwavering support to him during his troubled days and helped make his NBC sitcom Seinfeld a success.
He penned, “Next to Larry David and George Shapiro, Rob Reiner had the biggest influence on my career,” as they all three put their efforts to create the show, which ran from 1989 to 1998.
Referring to Rob, Seinfeld unveiled, “Our show would have never happened without him. He saw something no one else could. When nobody at the network liked the early episodes, he saved us from cancellation.”
“That I was working with Carl Reiner’s son, who happened to be one of the kindest people in show business, seemed unreal. I was naive at the time to how much his passion for us meant,” the Unfrosted star remarked singing praises of the When Harry Met Sally...director.
In addition, Seinfeld also mourned the loss of Rob’s wife, Michele, in his post.
“Rob and Michele married right as our show was starting and they became an imprint for me of how it’s supposed to work, each one broadening the other. Their death, together, is impossibly sad,” he wrote.
