Long-time Bondi resident Hugh Jackman says 'my heart is breaking' after the devastating attack
Hugh Jackman, a longtime Bondi resident has broken his silence on the devastating attack.
On Sunday, the terrorist mass shooting occurred at Archer Park near Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia during a public Hanukkah celebration.
Speaking with Fox 5 DC, the Wolverine star expressed his heartbreak on the news.
He said, "It's just devastating, it's my home so it hits close."
Jackman went on to add, "This is something we are seeing all over the world, my heart is breaking about it."
"I just feel for particularly for those families, those closely affected and the community because it's my community," he said. "I went to bed reading about Brown University and woke up reading about Bondi, I just feel heartbroken."
It is pertinent to mention that Hugh Jackman, famously known for his role of Wolverine - most recently in Deadpool & Wolverine, has been a longtime resident of Bondi Beach. The actor also owns a penthouse apartment close to Icebergs.
The horrific attack occurred as two armed men, allegedly Naveed Akram and his father Sajid Akram stood on a pedestrian footbridge and opened fire on locals, holidaymakers and families. While Naveed remains in hospital under police guard, his father Sajid was shot dead.
