Michelle Branch looks back on Diddy's party
Michelle Branch recounts a 2004 MTV VMA afterparty hosted by Sean 'Diddy' Combs that she and Jessica Harp attended
Michelle Branch is revisiting a Sean 'Diddy' Combs afterparty back in the early 2000s.
The singer shared some details in a series of Instagram Stories on Monday, revealing an exchange of texts with her former Wreckers bandmate, Jessica Harp.
The conversation was sparked by Harp watching a recent docuseries about Combs and recognising a familiar moment—a 2004 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty the pair attended.
Harp sent Branch a Getty Images photo of them arriving at the event, joking that one of the alleged “freak offs” discussed in the documentary may have taken place that same night.
Branch replied that she’d long wondered about the party herself.
Harp then noted that they didn’t stay for long. Both now acknowledge the decision as a blessing.
Instead, Harp recalled, the duo smoked weed and ate tacos with Owen Wilson.
In the caption, Branch called it a standout VMA moment with her longtime friend.
Branch and Harp formed The Wreckers in the mid-2000s, releasing their debut album Stand Still, Look Pretty in 2006, which featured the hit “Leave the Pieces.” The duo later went their separate ways to pursue solo careers.
