Teyana Taylor shares Leonardo DiCaprio words after dual award nods
Teyana Taylor spilled the advice costar Leonardo DiCaprio gave her after she had received two major nominations this award season.
In a recent chat with E! News at the Critics' Choice Association's 8th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema and Television on December 9, the One Battle After Another star expressed her excitement as she has received a Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards nod under her belt and shared Leonardo's wise words on how to handle success.
“Pacing myself and having fun with it,” she told the outlet, “Don’t start going down no rabbit holes, just have fun with it and that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
Teyana, who is mom to two kids, dished on her plans of slowing down on her birthday as she turned 35 on December 10.
“I am getting on a plane, the first flight to pick up my kids from school and honestly, that’s it. Auntie is tired," she revealed.
“I want to just chill out and just breathe for a little bit and go love on them babies," Teyana added.
It is pertinent to mention that Teyana shares daughters Iman, 9, and Rue, 5, with ex Iman Shumpert.
In a previous interview at the movie's premiere back in September, Teyana praised Leonardo's company.
“Leo is a good time. He’s so much fun. That’s my brother. He’s a mentor and a great leader on set.”
Leonardo shared the sentiment about Teyana and said at the premiere, “She’s got the best sense of humor. I knew when she was brought into this movie, I was like, ‘This girl is gonna bring the heat.’ And she did. She’s an amazing hang. She’s awesome.”
